'We were stuck in the past,' Matos explained during a presentation at the 2020 Automation Fair At Home event. 'We knew we needed to modernize our systems and leverage the latest advancements in IT and operational technology (OT).'

To achieve this, Buckeye Partners implemented a complex system of solutions as part of their digital transformation. This included using Rockwell Automation PlantPAx distributed control system (DCS) solutions and edge computing solutions from Rockwell Automation Technology Partner Stratus Technologies.

The results have been impressive. By converging IT and OT, Buckeye Partners has been able to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance customer service. As Matos noted, 'We're now able to respond quickly to changing market conditions and make data-driven decisions that drive business results.'
